Due to the summer holidays most of our staff will be somewhere on the Bahama's or in a ethno village in Serbia (most likely the last). This means that it can take some time before you get replies on your email inquiries or phone calls. Our staff will be back at the end of August from their long deserved holiday.

SGS members will also see a new feature on their right hand side, the Live Support chat feature now allows you to communicate real-tie with our staff.

A reminder for SGS members, we still offer assistence via Skype. Just email us to make an appointment. The Skype Screen Sharing is a perfect tool to work and assist you online with your research.

Our small team of then students started the Serbian Genealogical Society in 1998 as we noticed a great interest globally for what was our hobby at the time - the art and science of researching your family roots in Serbia. Since then we have done all we can to promote individual genealogical research in the region and influence relevant institutions to take this very important science seriously.

Due to the fact that we receive a lot of requests on how to use the site we decided to re-arrange the front-page. This means that from now on one first needs to login to access the site. Users that are not logged in will see two boxes. One is for people to login and the other box shows the different membership types people can choose from. Due to the high amount of traffic and bandwidth abuse we decided that only logged in users can use the resources of the society website. The fact that we are an organization that works with volunteers means that we cannot have someone maintaining the website 24/7 for those that do not contribute in any manner to the website and society.

As part of our site updates it is now possible for all registered members to post an article or weblink on our website. You can click on the "Create content" link on the left hand menu and it will go display the content that you can create. Once you created the content we will get a notification and the content will be put in a moderation que until one of our staff had the chance to review it. As soon as its approved you will get an email.

Articles that relate to genealogy, history, family tree's and other related content will most likely be approved without problems. Its possible the admin's may ask you to change some things here and there. Posts that advertise, flame or SPAM in any way will be blocked and use accounts may be blocked as well in case of abuse.

As we near the end of 2009, unique visits and ineterest in Rodoslovlje.com and genealogy research in the region continue to grow. As pioneers in the field of genealogy and online assistance in research in Serbia and the surrounding region, the Founders of this site and the Serbian Genealogy Society (formerly the Serbian Genealogy Foundation) are proud to announce the ongoing development of genealogy as a recognized science and the continued growth and success of the Rodoslovlje.com domain.

KruševacThe new upgrades on our site made it possible to add more advanced features. Since it is the society's goal to promote genealogy we intend to do this by creating more tools that allow you to work together with people that have the same interests. One of the most important tools is Working Groups. These groups will all get their own section on our website. Depending on the group people can join for free or they will have to be SGS members to access certain groups/sections.
