How exactly can we submit surnames to this database? There soon will be a submit button.
–the original spelling ( in both Latin and Cyrillic script) The site is in English and Serbian. The Serbian version is in Latin instead of Cyrillic because past polls indicate that the majority wants Latin. Nonetheless, we are working on a script that will transliterate the Latin into Cyrillic so there is no need to do the work double. We are working with volunteers .
-geographical distribution: What parameters do you suggest for this? At the moment its possible to add multiple locations. We can add extra fields but the tricky part is to measure this correctly.
-earliest documented entry (historical sources, vital records): There already is a field for Primary Sources. Once the Submit button is active you will be able to see this.
– transcription to other langagues that were in official use (Latin, Italian, German, Hungarian…) Its possible to do this under the field Background.
– spelling variants of later-date (after emmigrating to US,…) The Rodoslov system is more suitable for this,people can submit their own personal pedigree.
-other related surnames ( clan-name of origin, shortened or expanded variants): This can be put under Background as well.
-additional information ( patron saint, family nickname): We already added a Slava name field with all Saints.
