I have only just recently discovered that one of my ancestors the oldest that we know of came from Glina.
You have no idea how excited I was to find your website and our family surname Sukunda is listed as confirmed in church records from that area.
My father who is still in the old country only discovered this by accident by doing some research in our local municipality that one of our ancestors sold/purchased some land and his fathers name was in the record as Duka Sukunda from Brezovo Polje Glina.
I can't believe that this is just a coincidence. The fact that there are two confirmed surnames of Sukunda from that area is just fantastic.
How do we go about further researching to find out the birth date or death of Duka Sukunda if indeed one of those two surnames carry that first name, or if they were related and is there a chance of finding out who the parent mother/father was (would this be contained in these records) of these two surnames…

If anyone else in these forums is sharing our family name Sukunda please let me know – I would be happy to supply them and this forum if it is of interest our family tree as far as we have it. So far I have managed to collect over 80 members that carry that Surname that are directly decendant from Duka Sukunda from Glina…
My family tree is far from complete I am missing spouses – children and a lot of other details but I have at least a good deal of other information.
