TATALOVIĆ family is very large and prominent family from Lika area in Croatia. They are listed as one of the founding families of monastery Gomirje in 1600. A large number of them is from the town of Drežnica near Ogulin. Birth and marriage records from the area kept by Serbian Orthodox Church are available through Croatian National Archives where they were taken in 1941. Some of those old records are available in municipal officies in Ogulin, Karlovac and Vrbovsko. Try there.
After the WWII large number of families from Tatalović “clan” were forced to relocate to northern Serbia. Many descendants of these so-called “colonists” today come from the village of Bajmok, near Subotica, and they can maybe also help with information about their Lika ancestors.
