KeymasterHello Flo,
The best way to see what they have is via their website: http://www.arhivzrenjanin.org.rs/
They are the area of Zrenjanin aka as Groß in history.
Have you ever tried contact them?
Serbian archives are known for not having databases online, so its old fashioned research work 😉Zarevac
KeymasterHello Flo,
May I ask why so many variations? Spelling in this neck of the woods is a picky thing with regard to surnames. The endings with a -v or -f most likely will be completely different families. What is the name according to the paperwork you have? This will help me pointing you in the right direction.

KeymasterLet me go through this. I have another question for you. Does you family have a Slava / Family Saint or did you hear them about it? Usually they would have a specific icon of this particular saint in a room with a candle and would celebrate it once per year.
Ill get back to you as soon possible with regard to the article and such.

KeymasterЗдраво
Хвала вам. Шта желите тачно да знате о њима? Димитрије је умро кад му је било 24 године, а не знам да ли се оженио или је имао деце.Да ли је цела породица мигрирала у Француску?

We are making progress on creating a new feature on our website that will make your genealogical research a lot better. We are integrating BuddyPress into our website, this makes it possible for you to create your own family section. So this can be all about your genealogical/family research. You can choose to make it accesible to the public or just the members.
Some of the features will be:– own URL e.g. http://www.rodoslovlje.com/group/YOURNAME
– your own blog at the same url
– private messages,
– your own subforum
– your own avatars
– manage friends
– activity streams
– and moreWe will send out a general email soon when we will launch this feature.

What is the dead end you reached thus far? Might be worth for us to re-check and see if something new popped up online 😉

KeymasterYou are correct, there is a large group that moved to Vojvodina, I don’t know if that rings any bells? What did you try thus far? Do you speak Serbian?

KeymasterSounds like a plan, you can also consult online phonebooks and the local Donauschwaben community (link page)

KeymasterA quick other reply, the surname if spelled Ajhner is still used in Novi Sad. In the Serbia they spell words as they speak them.
