SpectatorHi,
Never ever pay without an escrow service or in terms especially with these amounts. Even with COVID life is normal in Serbia and Montenegro and everything is open. Can you PM me his/her info so I can check if they ring a bell?
Sergej
SpectatorWhat is his full name and BoD? I will check with Ellis Island and see if I can find something.

SpectatorYes, Marković is the equivalent of Johnson. And as with most family names they are not all from the same Marko 😀
We have a learning center for members, and in there are some articles about family saints or slava’s. Check those out for some background info etc.

SpectatorYes we don’t mind, that’s why the forum isn’t accessible for the public.

SpectatorHowdy,
That is hard to say without some names. Did you get their records via Ellis Island?
There are researchers out there, we can’t really recommend any because as a society we don’t do that. But maybe some of the members that check out the forum board can.
How far did you get with your research?
Do you have an online pedigree we can check out?

SpectatorI would contact the Serbian community in Chicago and see if there are people that still have a direct link with Trebinje. Serbia is a country where networking is important and the community in Chicago can help you out with a lot of practical questions, customs etc. And, you might never know who you run into.
There are research bureaus on the internet that you can hire to do research for you on your behave in Serbia/Bosnia. If you don’t speak the language I wouldn’t recommend going there for research. Sightseeing etc, yes, but not research. Things move at a different pace there 😉
Where do live now? Close to Chicago? If not I can look for a community near you.
