SpectatorWe added and changed some small things on the website. From now on there is no more login box on the frontpage, but a box with important links that point to e.g. Login. Once you click there you can chose to login directly via the website, or via Facebook. We hope you will enjoy this new feature.

SpectatorThis weekend we will release the My Rodoslov BETA version for the public. This means that the public can test the new version and slowly can give us feedback on what should be added. This topic is a placeholder for people to post information back.

SpectatorLast Chance to Register for the Eastern & Central European Family History Conference, this April 27 – 28, 2012! For the first time ever in the Twin Cities, there will be three unique ROMANIAN presentations, in addition to many other breakout sessions. Vicki Albu and Dorrene Hern will present “Researching Romanian Ancestors in the U.S.” Bogdan Filipescu and Raluca Octav will present “Finding Your Ancestral Village of Origin.” Daniel Necas will present “Romanian Holdings of the U of M Immigration History Research Center.” These presentations are brought to us by the Heritage Organization of Romanian Americans, the newly formed Romanian Genealogy Society, and the University of Minnesota’s Immigration History Research Center Library. The conference is sponsored by the Minnesota Genealogical Society and several other local ethnic genealogy societies including German, Czech and Slovak, Polish, Romanian, and others. Already over 130 people are registered to attend, and we expect almost 200.
If you have not paid 2012 membership dues to Romanian Genealogy Society, won’t you please consider becoming a member? Our second newsletter will be mailed soon. For just $20 a calendar year, you’ll get four quarterly newsletters and free access to help getting started with documenting and tracing your family history! Even if you are not actively involved in genealogy now, your children and grandchildren will benefit from your support of our fledgling organization, whose goals are to document, preserve, and promote interest in the heritage and family history of Romanians in the United States, not just in Minnesota. Send your check for $20 to RGS, 1185 N Concord, Suite 218, South St Paul, MN 55075.
Even if you are undecided now, we invite you to come to a meeting check things out. Our quarterly meetings will be held on the following Saturdays at 1 p.m. at Minnesota Genealogical Society Library in South St. Paul: May 19, August 18, and November 17, 2012. Each quarter, an informational meeting will be followed by informal discussion and sharing of stories, photographs, recipes, and traditions. PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO ANYONE WHO MAY BE INTERESTED. Thank you!
