SpectatorIgor,
Also in regards to your other question. Information can be found in the archives of Serbia. Depending on where you look there are also regional archives in most cases in the major cities. Serbia has no microfilmed archives and thus nothing even close to digital archives. The only thing that is availible is the information we collect and our member publish online here. Chances of anything digital by the archives is still far from real in the near future.
You can post here and ask and hope that people that are related will find this post. Which is very much possible since we are well spidered by Google and we have more then 1000 visitors per day. Otherwise if you live in Serbia or if you visit Serbia you can check with the archives in the town your family comes from. In short, you need to do old fashioned book research

SpectatorHi,
What is it you want to know exaclty? If you are related to Karadjordjevic? That Petrovic branch came from Montenegro. Since Petrovic is a comon name it could be coincedence. You would have to check the archives in Jagodina for the family tree.

SpectatorHey,
Nice TV.
As for Xmass, well that depends. If you are ORthodox you celebrate it on the 6th of Januari. If you are Catholic then in December. I just celebrate it twice

SpectatorHi George,
Your surname is from the Dalmatia region, its of Serbian origin. You can check Ellis Island for your great-grandfathers name and see where he was born. THe LDS centers allow you to check microfilms from that region in the States.
Most likely your family moved to the States due to poverty. The region is known as a troubled region and the last civil war levelled most churches and most books were destroyed as well. So your best chances are here on the forums hoping someone will see it in time and the LDS centers where you can access the microfilms.
A small PS to all: please dont post your email addresses on the forums. If people want to contact you they should use the “Private Message” option.

SpectatorHi there,
Well my wife has a Torbica in her family. Do you have a little bit more info like name and date of birth. Its not a name that is used frequently

Sergej
SpectatorOK those books are in the archives so you will have to contact the regional archive. Did you get that translation I send you on those pictures/cards that you attached in the members forum?
