We need to see if your g-g-g-grandfather was named Stojan.Sergej
Spectator100 = sto
Name is patronimical from Stojan, a comon first name. The -ov part is either Bulgarian, Macedonian or perhaps Russian.Sergej
SpectatorCould be possible. Do you happen to know if that is/was a common practise in those day’s?
Sergej
Spectatorhi,
Looking at the other stone first. I can tell you the followign about the cross you see on there. Its a standard cross but the design was fashion in those days.
I am still having trouble reading that second scan because when I zoom in its blocked somehow. I dont know if you can use another high resulotion scanner. The other card I will do tonight.

SpectatorMulti lingual site is in the progress, I expect that we have it online in about 2 weeks from now.
I am attaching some files here, if people want to translate them in Serbian they are more then welcome

SpectatorYea Brane is right ” Remembrance forever” is right. I think if you would use it in English it would be something like “Always remembered” but thats just merely syntax.
Sergej
SpectatorI am still looking at picture 2, will get back to you on that later. Will print it out, its still not sharp enough to read easily.

SpectatorOk picture 1 says the following:
Here lies
Miloš Radanov
Born in 1925
He heroically died to defend his freedom & fatherland
21-1-1945
Remember him! This stone was made by
Father Dragutin and mother Danica
Sisters, Nada, Jelic, Danilka
and brother LazaWe remember you for eternity.
Sergej
SpectatorI hope so too, experience shows however that most initiatives in Serbia with email and websites ends in non-activity from the side of the archives and churches due to lack of funds or no interest .
Maybe you can send Danica a PM. She has been offline for a while do to internet and PC trouble. She should have a new laptop soon so I can take a holiday :-p

SpectatorI can trace the name to the region where you mention it. However, you will need to backtrace yourself the line to see if you end up in Montenegro. I can’t find any direct link but the phonebook from Serbia and Montenegro have the name. Plečaš
You will have to write the archives of Croatia with your query. They will respond.
Sergej
SpectatorI would still like to see any info you can find. Hell, we have Chinese even in the smallest villages of Serbia these days. Makes me wonder that if the story is true why he actually went to Montenegro?
