SpectatorWell, local primary sources in the region. Not everything is microfilmed and with changing borders in the region you need to be patient in your search. Also, Family Search and Ancestry are known for their sloppiness in transcribing records. I would write the parishes directly if I were you.

But if you read the FAQ and the Learning Center you will also read that religious records are also stored at the respective churches. So I would also contact the Roman Catholic church.

SpectatorHello David,
Are you related? This I need to know due to privacy regulations before I send you off to e.g. the archives. They wont answer questions if you are not related.

SpectatorOk, keep me posted. If nothing works we can see if we can find someone who can go there on your behalve like a hired researcher,.
Sergej
SpectatorDo you have a scan of those records?
Sergej
SpectatorIt varies and depends on the church and the state of that specific parish as well. Back in the early 1900’s the borders changed and as is with the whole region the administrative state of archives and such suffered from it. Yes, you can write to the archives in Subotica. But chances are you will need someone there in person. I don’ know if you have?

SpectatorMissed your post, what questions about Kopaonik you have? Maybe start a new thread?

SpectatorMay I ask what the source is?
Records after 1900+ can be found in the municipal center or at the church itself due to privacy laws. -
