    Well, in that case it means that those books are with the Orthodox parish. Did you write them?

    No, Karlovac archives. Karlovac is the main city and seat of the administrative offices of the government (local)

    Unfortunally we cant help you with your request about your ancestors because you didnt mention the precise data and place. The place Sadilovac is part of the Orthodox bishopric of Karlovac. Most likely the books from Karlovac from 1905/1910 will be in Karlovac, the other from 1800, baptismal books.
    The Croatian governments archive doestn keep parochy books. Sadilovac is close to Slunja and Dreznik, which fall under the government archives of Karlovac Address:

    Lj. Sestiae 5
    47000 Karlovac.

    It would be better to write them since they hold the information most likely you are searching for.

    Thats a quick and rough translation. Make sure when you write them to state as much info as possible. I dont know if they have email. Try our link page and see their site.

    Hi,

    I am checking things out now slowly, Viki is translating the documents and I am working on the immigration papers. I am contacting some other members in Serbia that have a list of old place names of Krajina with migration maps.

    BTW, did you find another provider yet?

    Most of the archives are being microfilmed. However we are trying to find out it its only the non-Orthodox material.

    Please contact the LDS Church History Library for more information on what has been done already.

    Yes, we call our cousins and nephews brothers and sisters. Your desciption is perfect.

    We will next month finish work on a new SGS magazine and with some news about the archives and our office that we are trying to open in Belgrade. We will send out a newsletter then. We might access military archives soon.

    As for software; try http://www.speakserbian.com
    Otherwise go to http://www.rts.co.yu and watch Serbian TV and Radio to get a sense of the pronaunciation.
    Great to see you are making progress.

    Hello Stephan,

    I will get back to you this week. I am little bit sick at the moment.
    In the mean time, ask your Serbian friends for these meals:
    * Burek,
    * Cevapi
    * Filled peppers with rice

    Best regards,

    Most likely yes. If would recommend the nearist Church.
    Problem is as you know that the war destroyed things. Let me know when you get those immigration papers.

    Bob,

    The archives in Serbia are a mess. Serbia is having elections and the Radicals are winning slowly more ground. Which is bad for us, beccause the archives will get no funds, which means no new people. I talked with the other board members about this and we are kinda in the dark on what to do next. But at the end of next month we will publish some news in the new SGS Magazine.

    As for the documents. If you want you can send them to me with the info of your ancestor and I can take a peak. Maybe I will notice something. Let me know if you want that. I will PM you my address then.

    Let me know.

    Sergej
