SpectatorHello Helen,
I checked some books. The surname Lazarevic originates from Montenegro. Most Serbs have roots there. Most likely from the area of Kotor. Its quit a big family from what I can see.

SpectatorCheck this URL, you can type the names and check them out on the map. They all belong the the Montenegrin migrational areas.

SpectatorSheila,
Prlainovic, or maybe Prlanovic, is from Herzeg Novi Montenegro (easy to find on the map). Traparic is from Niksic ( also easy to find on the map) and originates from Herzegovina ( Bosnia&Herzegovina, the latter used to be part of Montenengro.
Yea your family comes from Montenegro, as you can see on maps its not a that big place at all. You are closing in, and I think you need to put all information next to each other and start filtering things out.
But both surnames are from Montenegro, so you would be doing good to start searching there.

SpectatorHello Helen,
I dont know if you wrote the archives of which I gave you the address?
Most likely from what I see all their records would still be there, which means its not a difficult job to do.Sergej
SpectatorHi,
Your family would be German of descent, also better known as DonauSchwaben. Serbs refer to them as Schwaben for that matter. They are basicly Germans who migrated throughout Serbia and the rest of Europe.
THe best to do would be to write to the archives of Novi Sad (see link page), you have full names and dates of birth so it wouldn’t be too hard. Also there is a link on the Donauschwaben community on the link page you might want to check out.
Hope this helps.

SpectatorThe member page update has started. From the dull white page, a integrated page will be created. We already succesfully updated our CMS without problems, and the forums will be updated soon again as well.
There might be a possibility that you will be prompted by a login screen more then once when loggin in onto the members section. This will be fixed asap.
