Is their website. At https://www.euprava.gov.rs/eusluge/institucija?service=servicesForInstitution&institutionId=81 you can order documents online such as excerpts from their records. You will need to create an account.
The archives of Vrsac fall under Bela Crkva, you mail them at [email protected]

SpectatorHi Joanne,
Welcome and thnx for your post. You can just post in English if you want to 😉
There are several places with the name Itabej: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Srpski_Itebej
It could be this one, but in order to make sure can you get a scan of the immigration document itself?Sergej
SpectatorHmm, yea I was afraid of that as the site wasn’t too popular so they didn’t archive it well.
I guess you can contacting them the old fashioned way via snail mail:

SpectatorHello Davina,
You can check the Croatian records online as Vinkovci falls under the Vukovar municipality.
The same applies tp Trstenik, you can write them as well and ask for information.
Does any of you speak the language?

SpectatorI’ve done some digging and this might be a lead when it comes to locating Kamenica
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamenica,_Ni%C5%A1
I would try writing the SOC and the NIs archives first. Hiring a researcher can be costly and we don’t recommend researchers.

SpectatorSeems it went down recently.
I don’t know of another source

SpectatorHi Mary,
Yes, but they also mention that they do not have the church records. You will need to contact the Serbian Orthodox and Catholic Church for those. And I would recommend also trying that on top of what you are doing now. And yes I think the process of elimination is the way to go.
But, I am glad to see that they responded. Things weren’t always that way, so there is improvement 🙂

SpectatorIZ “MATICE ZA 1768. GODINU’
NEPERGAĆE (Sv. Luka)
GLAVAŠKI (Sv. Ignjatije), došli iz Gornjeg Bečeja, najveća familija u VranjevuFROM “Municipal records 1768”
NEPERGAĆE (St. Luka)
GLAVAŠKI (St. Ignjatije), came from Gornji Bečej, the largest family in VranjeSo the details are found in those books, besides this listing there is nothing else in that book.

SpectatorThere are some authors in Serbia that did research in the past. One of them has published a book that can be found online: https://www.scribd.com/document/352687491/Jovan-Erdeljanovic-Srbi-u-Banatu or https://books.google.nl/books/about/Srbi_u_Banatu.html?id=JmNpAAAAMAAJ&redir_esc=y
Now you don’t need to buy these books. They do mention your family and how they came generally to the Banat. But in order for you to get your branch of your family tree you should go with the names of you parents and grandparents to the municipality of these towns. You can then request their data as you are family and have citizenship. All you need to do is trace back each branch and write it down. So you can find the missing info and go further until the first registration. With regard to them moving to Banat, this happened during different times. Some came earlier and some came later.
You might even access some records online: http://www.novibecej.rs/

SpectatorMy mother’s father was Milovan Nepergaća of Zrenjanin (1926-1991), son of Živa Nepergaća and Sofia Trifunjagić.
Živa was the son of Milan Nepergaća and Danica Vidin of Zrenjanin. I know the Nepergaća family immigrated from Hercegovina in the 18th or 19th century.
Sofia was the daughter of Obrad Trifunjagić and Draga Glavaški of Banat. I believe they were from Novi Becej and Kumane.
I don’t know if you know any Serbian? But it will make your research a lot easier. The good thing is you have citizenship, so you should be able to access the archives without problems. Do you ever go to Serbia?
The family saint for the Nepergaca family is Sveti Luka, does this ring a bell? Knowing the family saint is important.
Now all the names you listed did come from Herzegovina and a lot have moved to Vojvodina during the course of the centuries. Can you let me know if you know any Serbian at all? This will help me direct you in the right way as well. Also do you have any of the birth/death certificates?
